Torah Mantel Production Process

Congratulations for making the decision to have a unique Torah mantel created by MyParochet. What a wonderful mitzvah!

Let me guide you through the process involved in creating your Torah mantel. It usually takes around 1-2 months to complete.

Here the process in quick

  • Once you establish your Budget, we will send you an invoice, FOB Bnei Brak, for a 50% deposit.

  • Once you confirm the deposit, we'll schedule a Zoom meeting to discuss your ideas and consolidate a design concept.

  • We will spend some time emailing renders back and forth until you're 100% thrilled with the final design.

  • We will review the fabrics and threads to be used pre-production.

  • Then we will move on to production - fabric/thread purchases, digitizing, embroidery, and sewing.

  • We will email you a photo when your custom torah mantel is ready.

  • At this point we will ask for the balance - 50% plus shipping.

  • And then your Torah Mantel will be on its way to you.

  • Expect the shipping to be around $….. , if you are in New York for example.

For a more in-depth explanation please see below our work process

Step 1: Initial intake

Our team is dedicated to creating a unique and customized design. To help us to do this it is important for us to understand the vision of your mantel - who it will be in honor of …. . Photos of your shul’s interior are also important to ensure a nice flow between the interior and your mantels, something we specialize in.

Alternatively you can choose a torah mantel from my website collection https://www.myparochet.com/torah-covers

From my collection, we can customize the colors, posuk and dedication text of your torah mantel to make it synchronize with its surroundings. The dedication text can be placed in the front or back of your torah mantel.

You can also choose Eitz Chayim Rollers that coordinate with your torah mantel. The results are stunning! View my collection at  https://www.myparochet.com/eitz-chayim-torah-roller.

Additionally, we also have custom-designed Rimonim and Yads- see here: https://www.myparochet.com/silver-rimonim-and-yads

At this point, we would schedule a zoom meeting to discuss your ideas to form the concept.

Once the concept has been established we will forward you a comprehensive quote and ask for half of the payment.

Step 2: Design

In order to proceed we will need dimensions from you. Please see https://www.myparochet.com/blog/how-to-measure-parochet-aron-kodesh for full instructions on how to measure a torah mantel.

We will also work out which type of fabrics and the colors you want to be used for sewing your torah mantel.

Now that we have your design in mind and dimensions we will be in touch with our talented graphic designer to prepare the first render. Please bear in mind that the duration of this process may vary depending on the complexity of your project and the number of revisions required. We will not proceed until you are fully satisfied.

Step 3: Digitizing

Your design is now ready - we now need to prepare it for the embroiderer. This crucial step involves sending the graphics to a skilled digitizer, who will transform the artwork into precise instructions for the embroiderer to follow. By doing so, we can ensure that every intricate detail of your design is captured flawlessly, from the selection of fabrics to the intricate arrangement of threads. Each stitch will be carefully mapped out, guiding the embroiderer to transform your vision into a true masterpiece that will surely leave a lasting impression.

Step 4: Fabric and thread coordination

We will now put together the fabrics and threads needed to complete your masterpiece and send them out to our embroiderer with the instructions from the digitizer.

Step 5: Embroidery

The production process is in full swing … now our embroiderers need to get to work. The instructions from the digitizer provide them with information on the sequence of the stitches and which colors to use. We always request pictures of the progress of our embroiderers, which is always exciting to see, and also helps to avoid any mistakes.

Step 6: Sewing

Once we are content with our embroiderers' work (which may necessitate a few changes) and we have received your torah mantel in our studio we will dispatch the torah mantel for sewing.

Your torah mantel is practically finished now and we will be requiring the last payment.

Step 7: Packing and Shipping

Wow wow! We have come to the point of packing and sending out your masterpiece!
